**Ordinary Chickens** are obtained exclusively through **breeding**. Whether you breed a Genesis, Legacy, or another Ordinary Chicken, the offspring will always be an Ordinary Chicken. This makes them the most common chicken class in the Chicken Saga ecosystem.

Their primary advantage lies in **progression**. Ordinary Chickens can have up to **280 Innate Points (IP)**, allowing for stronger base stats and additional stat growth over time. In contrast, **Genesis** and **Legacy Chickens** are capped at **240 IP**, making Ordinary Chickens uniquely positioned for long-term development.

Genesis Chicken holders can rub their chickens daily to generate **Feathers**. Genesis Chickens generate **the highest** amount of Feathers compared to all other chicken types.

### **Immortality**

Unlike other chickens that can be "burned" after losing a battle, Genesis Chickens **defy death** itself. This is essential to the game's progression system. With **immortality**, your chicken can always keep fighting and powering up!

When Genesis Chickens lose under the effect of *Takipsilim*, they don’t die. Instead, they enter **Faint Status**.

What Happens When a Genesis Chicken Faints :point\_down:

🔸 They can’t perform any ecosystem actions until the next reset at 00:00 UTC\
🔸 They can’t be rubbed for Feathers\
🔸 They still count toward daily heal allocation\
🔸 Every consecutive faint extends the recovery time for Genesis Chickens

The **Legacy collection** introduces **8,888 chickens**, each carrying the remnants of Liwayway’s first light. Unlike the immortal Genesis, these warriors are bound by time, yet within them lingers the divine energy that shaped the world.

**Legacy Chickens** are primarily meant for **breeding** and **Feather generation**, **not combat**. While they can still enter battles, they are not optimized for high-risk encounters and may be at risk of dying.

# Legendary Chickens

**Legendary traits** will be featured in Chicken Saga, adding an exciting layer to the minting process. Each chicken will have **six body parts**, and each part has a chance to roll as Legendary during minting.

Chickens with Legendary parts will have **unique advantages** within the ecosystem. These chickens are designed to stand out both in utility and prestige.

These Legendary traits will be inspired by **mythological birds** from Southeast Asia, such as the ***Philippines***:flag\_ph:*’*&#x73; ***Ibong Adarna***, ***Indonesia***:flag\_id:*’*&#x73; ***Garuda**,* and ***Vietnam***:flag\_vn:'s ***Chim Lạc***, as a tribute to Ronin’s most active user base.

As strong advocates of community engagement, we ran a [Chicken Traits contest](https://x.com/SabongSaga/status/1851885052323565894) to gather suggestions from the community for in-game parts. Some of these suggestions will be implemented, ensuring that our project reflects the desires of our players.

The NFTs won’t be pre-defined before the mint date, giving players the thrill of potentially rolling Legendary traits during the reveal. We aim to make the minting process transparent and enjoyable by collaborating with the Ronin team to achieve this goal.

* **Genesis Chickens** have a **6.9% chance** per part to roll as Legendary.
* **Legacy Chickens** have a **0.420% chance** per part to roll as Legendary.
* **Ordinary Chickens** obtained from breeding **cannot roll or inherit** Legendary parts.

# Innate Points

Each chicken is born with a unique set of Innate Points (IP) that determine its natural aptitude in the seven stat categories: HP, Speed, Attack, Defense, Cockrage, Evasion, and Ferocity.

Innate points for each chicken are influenced by their parents' Innate points, with a range of **0 to 40** for each category.

For example: A chicken with high Innate Points in Attack will excel at dealing damage, while one with high Speed will attack more frequently.

* The total IP across all categories for a **Genesis** or **Legacy** chicken is **capped at 240.**
* **Ordinary chickens** produced through breeding will generate a **total IP between 0 to 280**, with 280 as the maximum to keep bred chickens within a controlled range.
* Half of a chicken’s Innate Points are instantly converted into battle stats, while the remaining half will have significance through chicken progression.

# Grit Points

**Grit Points (GP)** allow you to train and customize your chicken’s combat stats by allocating points across key attributes such as Attack, Defense, Speed, HP, Cockrage, Ferocity, and Evasion. Each stat can be upgraded up to a high level, giving you flexibility in shaping your chicken’s strengths. However, GP uses a limited SP pool, meaning you cannot max everything and must choose which stats to prioritize based on your strategy.

The cost of upgrading GP **increases as you progress**, making higher levels more expensive and impactful. This creates a natural progression where early upgrades are easier, while late-game decisions require careful planning. Different chicken types also have different SP limits, resulting in varying build possibilities and encouraging more specialized stat distributions.

To maintain flexibility, GP can be reset through a **respec system** that refunds all spent SP, allowing you to reallocate and adjust your build as needed. This ensures that players can adapt to changes in strategy or meta over time.

# Gameplay Overview

Chicken Saga gameplay features an **auto-battler system** where players can use ERC-1155 battle items to leverage their chicken's stats and Instincts for an edge. Each match is played in a best-of-3 rounds format. Players must carefully utilize all stats, adapting to opponents' strengths and weaknesses.

Players can take their chickens into battles to compete for rewards. However, if a chicken loses, there is a risk that it may be **permanently lost (burned)**. This % chance of a chicken “dying” serves as a mechanism to control the overall chicken population in Chicken Saga.

Battle Items are designed to be affordable, as they play a key role in every battle. They function as consumables, meaning one craft produces one ERC-1155 item, which is **consumed or burned after each use in battle.**

Before each battle, you’ll go through a quick setup phase to equip your chicken with items.

* Move your Battle Items from your wallet to your backpack in the Inventory section.
* Select your chicken for battle (Chicken Inventory)
* Open the battle modal to begin setup
* Pre-select 3 battle items (up to 5 with IAP)
* Enter matchmaking
* Once a match is found, you can view your opponent’s battle stats and equipped items.
* Reorder your items before the fight (choose activation order for each round)
  * At **<1500 MMR**, item order is preset and cannot be changed
  * At **1500 MMR and above**, you can manually reorder items before the battle starts
* Battle begins — one item activates per round, in the order you set.

### 🍪 Feeding Cookies

The **Chicken Feeding** system allows players to enhance their chickens with temporary stat bonuses before entering battle. It also affects their Affection, increasing it when they enjoy the cookie or decreasing it when they don’t.

Here’s everything you need to know about feeding Cookies 👇

* You can only get **stat bonuses** from up to **four different Cookie types** per chicken.
* Each cookie type grants its bonus stat **only once**.
* Bonus stats from Cookies last **12 hours** from the time of usage.
* Ultimate Cookies grant a random stat which **blocks the same stat type** from being fed again. Use them first and plan accordingly.
  * For example, if your Ultimate Cookie lands on Attack, the Attack Cookie will no longer provide a bonus stat.

### ⚡ Energy System

The **energy system** in Chicken Saga is directly tied to each chicken’s **Health Points (HP)**. HP functions as the cooldown timer for each chicken. After battles, chickens lose HP and must regenerate it before they can fight again. **Free daily** heals serve as your Energy, allowing you to recover HP and re-enter battles.

* **Health Points (HP):** Each chicken has a maximum HP value (e.g., 300 HP). The HP of your chicken will reflect its remaining HP after the last round of its previous battle.
* **Cooldown Dependency:** The cooldown duration is directly proportional to the remaining HP of the chicken after battles. Lower HP results in a longer cooldown period.
* **Healing Options:**

  * **Free Daily Heals:** Players can heal their chicken to full HP up to (x) times daily at the Health Center for free. The number of available heals will depend on how many chickens you have.

### ⚰️ Faint Mechanic

When a **Genesis Chicken** loses under the effect of ***Takipsilim***, it enters a **Faint status**. This mechanic keeps the Genesis balanced in Leaderboard progression and shows that even immortals are not spared from the wrath of *Takipsilim*.

Here are the conditions and limitations for fainted chickens :point\_down:

🔸 They can’t perform any ecosystem actions until the next reset at 00:00 UTC\
🔸 They can’t be rubbed for Feathers\
🔸 They still count toward daily heal allocation\
🔸 Every consecutive faint extends the recovery time for Genesis Chickens

* 1st faint: 1 reset
* 2nd faint: 2 resets
* 3rd faint: 4 resets
* 4th+ faint: 7 resets

**Reminder**: Recovery duration returns to 1 reset once your chicken endures 1 reset without fainting.

### ☠️ Death Mechanic

The Death mechanic introduces **permanent risk** to battles. It brings **risk-to-earn** gameplay into Chicken Saga, where every battle carries the possibility of permanent loss.

**Legacy** and **Ordinary** chickens that trigger ***Takipsilim*** and lose will **permanently die** and be **burned from the supply**, introducing a risk-to-earn mechanic.

* **Base Chance** = 6.9%
* **Death Chance (%)** = Base Chance + ((Current Population−Target Population)/Target Population)× Scaling Factor
* If a chicken triggers *Takipsilim*, a warning will appear at the start of the match: **“*****Takipsilim*****&#x20;is watching this battle.”** The affected chicken will then have a purple HP bar throughout the match.
* **Quitting** or **refreshing** the page after this message appears **does not affect** the outcome of the battle.

### 🕯️ Takipsilim's Mercy

Takipsilim’s Mercy protects chickens from being punished during their early battles at the start of each season. Under this effect, chickens will not be burned by Takipsilim for their first 20 matches.

This applies to both Ordinary and Legacy chickens, allowing players to test and experience them freely without fear of loss. The feature encourages players to explore different strategies, team compositions, and playstyles at the beginning of every season.

**Important Note:**

* The effect applies even if a chicken has already fought more than 20 times before the current season.
* Only battles fought within the ongoing season count toward the 20-match limit.

Chicken Saga features a combination of **ERC-1155 assets** and dynamic **Leaderboard rewards**. Players can earn materials, tokens, and exclusive cosmetics through consistent gameplay and performance.

* The amount of **Corns or Shards** you receive per win will vary based on your **MMR**.

* **Crystals** will be given to chickens that die / faint in battle:
  * A chance to receive a **Red Crystal** 🔺
  * A chance to receive a **Blue Crystal** 💠

**Mortal chickens (Legacy and Ordinary)** receive **5 Crystals** when they die and are burned, compared to **1 Crystal** for Genesis chickens when they faint.

**1. Proc Activation**

During a battle, either chicken (or both) can trigger a **Liwayway proc**, similar to the classic *Takipsilim* mechanic.

**2. Win Condition**

The chicken that receives the Liwayway proc must **win the match**. No win = no blessing.

**3. Earn Blessings (Tickets)**

A victory with a proc grants the player **Liwayway Blessings**. These blessings act as **tickets** that represent a slice of the day’s total $COCK pool.

**4. Daily $COCK Pot Distribution**

Each day, a fixed amount of $COCK is allocated to all blessing ticket holders. Your share is calculated as: **(Your Blessings / Total Blessings for the Day) × $COCK Pool** More blessings = larger share of the day’s rewards.

**5. Day-Specific Blessings**

Blessings are **locked to the day they were earned**. Each daily reset begins a new distribution cycle.

**6. Reward Payout**

$COCK rewards can be claimed after the next reset and share the same cooldown as battle rewards, which also have a 12-hour cooldown.

**7. Increased Proc Chance**

Higher MMR and higher chicken affection increase the chance of earning a Liwayway’s Blessing.

In Chicken Saga, you can rub your chickens daily to receive Feathers (ERC-1155). Chickens with legendary parts will receive more Feathers. Feathers will only be available if the chicken was not listed or transferred 24 hours before the daily reset at **00:00 UTC**.

# Breeding

The Breeding System in Chicken Saga enables players to pair their chickens to produce unique offspring, combining the genetics, stats, and instincts of the parent chickens. This system is designed to enrich the gameplay experience by allowing strategic breeding decisions that influence the next generation of chickens.

### **⚙️ Core Mechanics**

* **Unlimited Breeding**: There is no maximum limit on the number of times a chicken can breed.
* **Breeding State**: Chickens engaged in breeding enter a 'Breeding State' during which they cannot participate in other activities.
* **Progressive Cooldown & Cost**: Both cooldown duration and breeding costs increase as a chicken’s Breeding Count (BC) goes up.
* **Dynamic Breeding Costs**: Breeding costs adjust based on the total chicken population, increasing when the supply is high and decreasing when it's low.
* **Resource Requirements**: Breeding requires both $COCK and Feathers. The $COCK cost is tied to a specific USD value to maintain economic balance.

### ⏳ **Breeding State**

Once a chicken undergoes the breeding process, it will enter Breeding State. During this time, the following restrictions will apply:

* Cannot participate in battles
* Cannot be rubbed for Feathers
* Cannot be fed daily
* Cannot perform any actions (e.g., battle, generate feathers, gain ecosystem rewards)

When two chickens breed, their individual BC values determine the total cooldown.

* Example: 0 BC + 0 BC chickens = 2 days cooldown
* Example: 1 BC + 2 BC chickens = 5 days cooldown (2 + 3)
* Example: 5 BC + 0 BC chickens = 13 days cooldown (12 + 1)

The chicken will remain unavailable for any activity during its Breeding State. After the cooldown period, the chicken will become available again for use in the game and also receive ‘Ninuno’ rewards.

### **💰 Breeding Cost**&#x20;

The cost of breeding will increase progressively based on the number of times a chicken has been bred.&#x20;

* A dynamic breeding fee will be implemented, meaning both the $COCK dollar value and Feather cost will be dynamic, updating based on overall chicken population levels.
* Feathers will be burned upon use, while all $COCK spent will be directed to the treasury / in-game rewards.

Take note: The breeding costs listed are per chicken. The total breeding cost will be the combined cost of both chickens involved in the breeding.

Each chicken in Chicken Saga is composed of seven distinct body parts, and each part carries a set of inheritable traits. These traits are categorized into dominant and recessive genes.

* Dominant traits (P) have a 75% chance of being inherited.
* The dominant trait (P) is the current body part on the chicken.
* Recessive traits (H1, H2, H3) each have a 25% chance of being inherited.
* Recessive traits are hidden and may appear in future offspring through breeding.

### 🧪 Instinct Inheritance System

Every chicken in Chicken Saga comes with a unique Instinct, a trait that influences how they perform in battle. When breeding, your offspring has a chance to inherit one of the 17 known instincts.

When two chickens breed:

* Each parent’s instinct is given a **1.5x weight**
* All remaining instincts are assigned a **1x weight**
* There’s an **8.33% chance** to inherit each parent’s instinct, and a **5.56% chance** for any of the remaining instincts.
* One instinct is randomly chosen for the offspring, based on these weighted chances

This means that each parent’s instinct has a higher probability of being passed on, but it’s never guaranteed. The system still leaves room for variety and surprise.

During breeding, the system selects Innate Stats from the parent chickens. Each stat will randomly use one parent as its base. After that, each stat rolls a random modifier 👇

This keeps breeding dynamic and unpredictable, while still respecting parent IPs.

#### Forbidden Pairings

The following pairings are strictly prohibited:

* **Parent ↔ Offspring**
* **Full siblings** (chickens sharing the same two parents)

These restrictions prevent direct inbreeding and maintain ecosystem balance.

#### Allowed Pairings

The following pairings are permitted:

* **Half-siblings** (sharing one parent only)
* **Cousins and other non-direct relations**
* **Any unrelated bloodlines**

This allows strategic breeding flexibility while still protecting genetic structure.

#### Generation Difference Requirement

In addition to relationship restrictions, Chicken Saga enforces a **minimum generation gap rule**:

* Chickens may only breed if their **generation difference is at least 3**.
* Example:
  * Gen 1 may only breed with up to Gen 4.
  * Gen 2 may only breed with up to Gen 5.
  * Gen 3 may only breed with up to Gen 6.

Breeding is allowed only if both:

1. The relationship is not parent/offspring or full sibling.
2. The generation difference requirement is satisfied.

# Chicken Affection System

Your chickens now have an **affection bar** that increases as you take care of them, feed them well, and earn their favor. Affection directly affects battle performance and the rewards you receive. The higher the affection, the greater the rewards.

The Affection System introduces a new layer of depth to our Metagame loop. The Law of Equivalent Value Exchange applies here, where chickens reward players based on the care and value invested in them.

#### Affection Level and Tiers

Chickens can now express their emotions, ranging from **Stressed** to **Loyal**. A chicken’s affection level directly affects its battle performance and the rewards you receive.

**Crystal Multiplier Note**: The affection-based crystal multiplier (×1 to ×4) applies only to mortal chickens (Legacy & Ordinary) that die in battle. Genesis chickens that faint always receive a ×1 multiplier regardless of affection level.

#### Instincts and Affection

Each chicken possesses a unique **instinct** that provides certain stat modifiers. With the new system, your chicken's affection level will further influence these instincts:

* **Loyal (90-100 Affection)**: The positive effects of your chicken's instinct are *added*! For example, an "Aggressive" chicken (normally +10% Attack) will get an *additional* +10 Attack bonus (not the percentage).
* **Stressed (0-10 Affection)**: The positive effects of your chicken's instinct are *removed*. An "Aggressive" chicken would deduct a 10 Attack bonus.
* **Happy, Neutral, Moody (11-89 Affection)**: Your chicken's instinct modifiers remain as they are.

* **Ultimate Cookie**: A premium treat that always grants +12 affection.
* **Rub**: A daily rub can give your chicken a significant +20 affection boost.

* **Heals (Paid & Subscription)**: Healing your chicken through in-app purchases or subscriptions will also grant a +5 affection bonus.

# Delegation

The Delegation System gives chicken owners the ability to let other players use their chickens through direct delegation or by listing them for rent. Owners can customize access by choosing whether the chicken is delegated for daily rubs, gameplay, or both, creating flexibility in how chickens are shared and utilized.

A **Chicken Rental Marketplace** will be available where all chickens up for rent are displayed.

**What You Can See in the Marketplace**

* For each listing, you can also review the **delegation terms**, including access type, feather distribution, and game rewards distribution.

### 📋 Create Listing

#### Step 1: Choose your Chicken

Select one of your available chickens to list for rental or delegation.

You can also use the **bulk list option**, which allows you to select up to 20 chickens at once for rental or delegation.

In the bulk list option, you can only delegate **one chicken type** at a time. For example, you cannot bulk list a batch that includes both Genesis and Legacy chickens.

To make selection easier, you can **filter by chicken type** or **search by Chicken ID** to quickly find the chicken you want to delegate or list for rent.

#### Step 2: Set Rental Terms

**Direct Delegation**

* First, you can toggle direct delegation. By doing so, you will delegate your chicken to a chosen address, and no rental fee will be required.
* If you choose direct delegation, you only need to enter the address and set the duration, with a maximum of 90 days per delegation.

**Rental Listing**

* If you choose a rental listing instead (by leaving the direct delegation toggle off), you will need to set a daily rental fee.
* The system will automatically calculate the daily rental fee and display your total earnings along with the applicable marketplace fees.
* If the selected chicken is a Legacy or Ordinary chicken, you will have the option to add an insurance fee. This insurance acts as a safety net, covering losses if the rented chicken dies.

* The delegator can choose whether the Feathers are received by the delegator, the delegatee, or split between them with a **custom distribution**.
* Legendary Feathers will automatically go to the delegator (owner).
* The daily rub streak will always be credited to the rubber.

**Gameplay**

* Only the delegator will be able to perform daily rubs on the chicken.
* Only the delegatee can use the chicken for gameplay or battles.

* For gameplay access, the owner can set whether the rewards accumulated by the chicken can be claimed by the delegatee, or only by the owner.
* Be careful when granting gameplay access to **Legacy** and **Ordinary** chickens, as they can still die during delegation or renting.

**Note:** Only delegations can be canceled. Rentals cannot be canceled, and you will need to wait for the rental period to finish.

### ⚠️ Delegation Guidelines

* Each chicken can only be rented to **one person at a time**.
* **Chickens under cooldowns** (e.g., Breeding State or Faint) cannot be listed for rent until the cooldown ends.
* Delegatees / renters **cannot breed** with rented chickens.
* The owner **cannot cancel or revoke an active rental**. Only delegated chickens can be canceled or revoked at any time.
* When you rent a chicken, it will remain unavailable for gameplay until the next reset at **00:00 UTC** due to its recently transferred status. It is advised to rent shortly before the daily reset to maximize your rental duration.
* In the bulk list option, you can only delegate **one chicken type** at a time. For example, you cannot bulk list a batch that includes both Genesis and Legacy chickens.
* A **Bulk Undelegate** option is also available. You can undelegate up to **50 chickens** in a single transaction.
* Delegatees / Renters can use the chicken in **all eligible battle modes** if game access is granted.
* **Wins and losses** by the renter are permanently recorded in the chicken’s battle log.
* Legacy and ordinary chickens **can still die** while rented or delegated.
* Owners can set an **Insurance Fee**, paid upfront by the renter:
  * If the chicken dies, the fee goes to the owner.
  * If the chicken survives, the fee is refunded to the renter at the end of the rental.
* **Game rewards** can be set by the delegator to be either claimable by the delegatee or restricted entirely, with no option for a custom split. If access is not granted, the delegator will be able to claim all accumulated battle rewards once the delegation ends.
  * If you want a split reward distribution, you will need to set the game rewards to the **delegator**, claim the rewards, and then manually send the scholar’s or delegatee’s share.
* **Leaderboard rewards** can be claimed by whoever holds the chicken, whether it’s the delegator or the delegatee.
  * Managers must ensure they undelegate their chickens promptly after the season ends if they plan to claim the leaderboard rewards themselves or split the rewards, in which case they will have to claim them as the delegator and manually send the scholar’s or delegatee’s share.


# The 'Ninuno' System

**Genesis and Legacy chickens** hold the key to expanding bloodlines through the **‘*****Ninuno*****’ system**. When a Genesis or Legacy chicken becomes the founder of a lineage, it earns **10% of breeding fees** from that entire bloodline, providing long-term passive rewards.

“***Ninuno**”* means **ancestor** in Tagalog/Filipino, reflecting its core purpose of establishing lineage within the Chicken Saga universe. This exclusive feature is **only available to both Legacy and Genesis Chickens**, giving them a unique role in shaping the Chicken Saga universe.

**Important notes:**

* If **multiple founders** are attached to a new breed, the 10% share is distributed among all founding chickens. This means the 10% fee is collective for all founders involved in each breeding.
* If you **sell or transfer** your founding chicken, the *Ninuno* rewards will be accumulated by the new owner.
* If a **Legacy chicken dies**, it will no longer produce Ninuno rewards.

The team purchased 70% of the supply, leaving approximately 10% available for purchase on Tama.meme prior to migration. After $COCK transitioned to Katana, an initial liquidity pool was established, consisting of 20% of the tokens (highlighted in grey) alongside the RON from Tama.meme.

   * Reveal Logic: Implement a randomized reveal process, allowing trait combinations to be hidden until post-minting.
2. **Daily Rub (akin to Axie's Daily Atia Prayer)**
   * Feature Launch: Roll out the “*Daily Rub*” feature, allowing players to perform an on-chain transaction to rub their chickens. In return, they’ll earn an ERC-1155 item called Feathers 🪶, with the amount awarded based on the number of chickens they own. Chickens with legendary parts will receive a bonus, but this feature is only available for chickens not currently listed for sale. Players will be able to view the amount of Feathers earned from daily rub, and track their total accumulated *Feathers🪶*.
